Founder NY Distilling 

Allen Katz is the Director of Mixology & Spirits Education for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of New York. He is also the co-founder of New York Distilling Company in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

He produces Dorothy Parker – New York Gin –, Perry’s Tot – Navy-Strength Gin, Chief Gowanus – New-Netherland Gin, Mister Katz’s Rock & Rye and Ragtime Rye, named the highest rated American Craft Rye Whiskey by The New York Times.

A foremost authority on spirits and distilling, Allen has worked as a business consultant and in cocktail development for some of the most recognized brands in the beverage industry. In addition to presenting food and beverage seminars for public and private groups, he is a regular presenter at trade shows and industry events on topics of regional food and beverage heritage in America. This October he will produce The Wild Rye Rumpus, a four-day festival dedicated to all things Rye.
